You would think this is a book which would appeal to progressive college students. At Tulane, a talk by Ball has been canceled for now, because student critics were outraged by the very idea of this event.

Anyway, I had some surgery done soon after and my speech improved quite a bit. I went through years of speech therapy and years of getting made fun of by jerks and, presently, it’s much better than it ever was but yeah, I still can’t quite nail that R sound, especially when it’s in the middle or at the end of a word (speaking of which: do not ask me to pronounce “word”).   My 12 year old is passionate about math, and this book will be fun for him to go through. My favorite feature of it, which was a wonderful surprise, is a folded up "world history timeline" in the back of the book that you can pull out to see what was happening concurrently in the world with different mathematical discoveries. It is delightful!Reviews:
